TULSA, Oklahoma – Good Samaritans helped pull the driver of a pickup truck out of his vehicle when it caught fire after a collision at a Tulsa intersection Thursday morning.

The crash happened at the intersection of Pine and Memorial about 8 a.m.

Tulsa Police said the pickup truck was driving south on Memorial when it collided with a box truck that turned in front of it. Officers said the box truck was trying to turn left onto Pine Street.

The pickup truck caught fire as a result of the crash. Witnesses pulled the driver out of the vehicle.

"Their efforts saved that man's life," Captain David Casey, Tulsa Fire Department said.  "Probably could've been trapped or burned and they prevented both of those situations from getting any worse by their actions."

The driver of the truck was transported to the hospital with non life threatening injuries.

A passenger in the box truck was also transported to the hospital with non life threatening injuries. The driver of the box truck was not injured.
