OOLOGAH, Oklahoma – Two people were injured when a semi rear-ended a pickup truck Wednesday morning, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

It happened on Highway 169 just south of Oologah just before 7 a.m.

Troopers said the driver of the pickup truck was headed north on Highway 169 and had slowed down to turn onto Old Highway 88 when the semi rear-ended him.  Judge from the damage, it appears the semi actually rode up on the trailer being pulled by the pickup.

The impact spun both vehicles around, rolling the semi on its side.

Emergency responders said the relief driver who was sleeping in the sleeper cab of the semi was transported to the hospital in critical condition.  Troopers said driver of the pickup was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

The driver of the semi received minor injuries.

There was heavy fog in the area at the time of the accident.
