BIXBY, Oklahoma -- You have to love Fall in Oklahoma. There's football, and soon the fall foliage will be at its peak. There's also the fall fun of going to the pumpkin patch or finding your way through a corn maze.
In many parts of our state, the Fall colors are Mother Nature's reward for making it through another long, hot Oklahoma Summer.
Fall is here, and Carmichaels' Country Pumpkin Patch in Bixby is the perfect place to enjoy it. Just ask the Arterberry's kids.
"I thought this one was a really round one, so I got this one and this is about the most tiniest," said 6-year-old Connor Arterberry, showing off his pumpkin patch find.
For more than 30 years, Don Carmichael has had a pumpkin patch open to the public.
"We've got people that drive a long way to come," said Carmichael
It's a lot of work, but there's also a lot of enjoyment watching the kids and seeing the smiles, year after year. "We've got three or four generations that are coming out," he said.
Krisin Kern brought her two children and a friend to the pumpkin patch. "Fall is our favorite season. Lots of time outside," she said.
It isn't just the pumpkins keeping kids busy. There's everything from a petting zoo to grass and hay mazes. You'll find plenty of opportunities to make memories.
"We've got some of these young families that will bring their kids five, six, seven times," said Carmichael.
So bring your camera, bring your wagon, but leave your worries behind. Because at Carmichaels' Country Pumpkin Patch, it's all about a bumper crop of Oklahoma Fall fun.
Carmichael's Country Pumpkin Patch is located just off 171st near Mingo.
The State Agritourism Department has a listing of all the corn mazes in Oklahoma, and other fall attractions.
