Arkansas Woman Arrested In Connection With Oklahoma Death

FORT SMITH, Arkansas -- Oklahoma authorities say an Arkansas woman has been arrested and extradited on a murder charge in the death of an eastern Oklahoma man.

Shannon Brewer, 37, of Fort Smith was arrested Saturday on an Oklahoma murder warrant in the death of 67-year-old Ron Fields.

Sequoyah County Sheriff Ron Lockhart told a Fort Smith TV station, KFSM that Brewer was arrested at the Sebastian County Detention Center where she was being held on prostitution charges.

Court documents do not list an attorney for Brewer.

Fields was found dead September 23 inside his machine shop near Roland.

A cause of death has not been released.
