TULSA, Oklahoma – A Tulsa County judge has recused himself in the case of a man charged in a crash that killed three members of a Sand Springs family on Christmas Eve 2009.

Steven Wade Jameson's case will be reassigned to a new judge after Judge Gillert recused himself Monday morning.  It's not clear why Judge Gillert recused himself.

Jameson is charged with charged with three counts of first degree manslaughter, drug possession and driving without a license after prosecutors say he crashed his Hummer head on into a car on Highway 51.

Michael Mulanax, 42, his wife Angela, 41, and their son James Mulanax, 18, died in the crash.

Jameson reportedly told police he had looked at his dog in the back seat of the vehicle when he noticed he was driving into oncoming traffic.

Last month, a judge bound Jameson over for trial.  He is expected back in court next month.
