ADAIR COUNTY, Oklahoma – Authorities said Noel White, 53, from Siloam Springs, Arkansas, drowned after trying to rescue his fiancée, Donna Drayden.

White's body was found Wednesday morning in the Illinois River, according to the Oklahoma Scenic Rivers Commission.

The Oklahoma Scenic Rivers Commission said the couple was at the Redneck Yacht Club Campground Tuesday night when White noticed his fiancée having trouble in the water.

Authorities said Drayden was able reach the shore, but White never resurfaced.
