TULSA, OKLAHOMA -- The Tulsa City-County Board of Health has selected Dr. Bruce Dart as Director of the Tulsa Health Department.
In a news release, Dr. Bruce Dart is a public health practitioner since 1980, Dart has been director of the Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department since 2001.
He will begin his position as Director of the Tulsa Health Department on November 1, 2010.
"The Tulsa City-County Board of Health conducted a lengthy nationwide search and are confident Dr. Dart's years of public health experience on local, state, and national levels will be a tremendous asset to Tulsa County," said Tulsa City-County Board of Health Chairman Rik Helmerich.
"I am very honored and excited to be chosen as director of the Tulsa Health Department. I look forward to establishing new relationships and developing partnerships within Tulsa to be part of a team that positively impacts the quality of life of all our constituents. Dart is a Registered Environmental Health Specialist and was formerly Nebraska Environmental Health Administrator of the Year.
Dart received his MS in Administration (Health Services) from Central Michigan University and his PhD in Health Services from Walden University.
He has served as President of the National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO), President of Nebraska's public health association and on numerous state and local public health/health services committees.
