OWASSO, OKLAHOMA -- Owasso High School suspended 7 high school football players just hours before homecoming Friday night.
Superintendent Doctor Clark Ogilvie confirmed to The News On 6 that the school had suspended the players for 5 class days and 2 football games. He would not comment on the reason other than to say the students violated school policy.
But several fans told the News On 6 Friday night it was a hazing incident that prompted the punishment.
"It's devestating you know," said C.J. Harris, a senior at Owasso High School. "For them to act so irresponsibly right before a game, its really disrepectful to our school, you know?"
Owasso hosted Jenks in a battle of 6A teams Friday night. The Trojans beat the Rams 59-7.
