ROGERS COUNTY, OKLAHOMA -- The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says two young girls died in a car crash Thursday evening in Rogers County near the community of Foyil.
Troopers say the two girls, 2-year-old Quenth Jacobson and 6-year-old Jocelynn Jacobson from Claremore were killed when the car they were riding in struck a tree and split in half.
The driver of the car was the girls' mother 27-year-old Destiny Burns.
The OHP says the car was northbound on a county road at a high rate of speed, ran off the left side of the road and struck a tree.
Burns was pinned in the car for about 30 minutes before firefighters were able to free her.
She was taken to a Tulsa hospital and admitted for treatment of a number of injuries.
Another passenger in the car, 17-year-old Lindsay Emery, was also injured and was taken to a Claremore hospital where she was treated and released.
The two young sisters were pronounced dead at the scene.
The accident happened on North South 4180 Road less than a mile south of East-West 410 Road.
