Sixteen Tulsa Public School Students Named as National Merit Semifinalists

Twelve students attend Booker T. Washington High School and four attend Thomas Edison Preparatory School.

TULSA, OKLAHOMA -- Sixteen Tulsa Public School students have been named National Merit Semifinalists.

Twelve students attend Booker T. Washington High School and four attend Thomas Edison Preparatory School.

The twelve semifinalists from Booker T. are: Seth Amos, Rikki Brown, Zachary Gill, Madeline Lackey, Anna Lasky, Michael Lovell, Jonathan Michael, Madeline O'Sullivan, Oscar Singer, Emily Taylor, Yuliya Shyrokonis and Paul Williams.

Edison's four semifinalists are: Andrew Adelson, Ben Miller, Austin Milton and Robyn Nettles.

In a news release from Tulsa Public Schools, in order for these 16 students to become finalists, semifinalists must display a stellar academic record in high school, receive an endorsement from their principal, author an essay and show involvement in leadership and community activities.

National Merit winners will be announced in April.
