TULSA, Oklahoma -- Oral Roberts University announced the school's fall 2010 undergraduate and graduate enrollment is up by 72 students from last fall. The total enrollment for fall 2010 is 3,212 students, representing 49 states and 51 countries. Retention of freshmen from the fall of 2009 is 81.6 percent, which increased 4.8 percent from the previous year and is well above the national average.

"I am excited to see an increase for two consecutive years given the current economic conditions," said President Mark Rutland. "I am encouraged because we have met our enrollment goals for this year and our retention of freshman increased significantly. The retention increase is a great indicator that our students are excited about the new ORU."

ORU reports the increase in enrollment and bump in retention is the result of many physical improvements and a positive campus environment. ORU has completed $30 million in renovations over the last three years, made all of the dorms wireless, and has built a new Hispanic center, among other improvements.
