TULSA, OKLAHOMA -- A man who escaped from the Avalon Correctional Center at 302 West Archer in Tulsa last week is now back behind bars after leading Tulsa Police on a high speed chase early Wednesday morning.
Authorities had been looking for 37-year-old Phillip Davis since his escape.
At about 12:30 a.m., police officers attempted to pull a car over for a traffic violation at Pine and Harvard.
The driver sped away and Tulsa Police gave chase.
The chase wound through a nearby neighborhood before police were able to stop the car in the backyard of a home in the 3200 block of East Seminole.
The driver took off on foot, but officers were able to arrest him a short distance away.
A woman and a 2-year-old boy were also in the car; police say they stayed behind and told officers the driver's name was Phillip Davis.
The woman was not arrested.
Davis was booked into the Tulsa County jail on a number of complaints, including eluding police, child endangerment, resisting arrest and not having a driver's license.
