TULSA, OK---For aviation fans seeking a unique look into the past, a 1929 Ford Tri Motor is selling rides at R.L. Jones Airport in Tulsa this weekend.
For $60.00, or $50.00 if you are a member of the Experimental Aircraft Association, you can fly over Tulsa in the 9-passenger, all metal plane.
‘It's a world famous airplane,' said pilot Cody Welch, from the EAA, ‘it's the airplane that started Eastern Airlines and Cubana Airlines. The airplane has a remarkable history, it's the pioneer of all commercial flying.'
The plane is at Tulsa Technology Center on the south side of the airport. Flights are available Aug 26 – 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM and Aug 27-29 – 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM Walk-ups are welcome, there is plenty of room no reservation needed.
