JENKS, Oklahoma -- Rescue animals, product giveaways, contests, $25 microchipping and Radar The Weather Dog were all at Woofstock Saturday at the Jenks Riverwalk.
The festival raised awareness of the plight of unwanted pets in Oklahoma and provided an opportunity for people to find rescue dogs and cats.
Few dogs are better examples of the benefits of pet rescue than Radar the Weather Dog. Radar was at the Tulsa Animal Shelter when The News On 6 looked for a mascot to help teach Green Country children the importance of weather safety.
On Saturday, Radar and WARN Team meteorologist Nick Bender were at "Woofstock," one of the largest pet adoption events in the state. The festival for pets and their people took place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Riverwalk Crossing in Jenks.
