Oklahoma-Filmed 'The Killer Inside Me' Opens Friday At Circle Cinema

TULSA, OK -- A movie filmed partly in Oklahoma opens Friday at the Circle Cinema in Tulsa. The darkly violent "The Killer Inside Me" is based on a 1952 novel by Oklahoma author James Thompson.

Movie critic Michael Smith said it was the first time the words "sickening, grotesque and repugnant" all made it into the same review.

The film stars Casey Affleck, Jessica Alba and Kate Hudson. Affleck plays a deputy sheriff who is also a psychopathic killer. The movie was filmed in several Oklahoma locations including Tulsa and Oklahoma City.

The violence is hard to watch because it is "over the top," Smith said Friday morning on Six in the Morning.

"Tulsa looks great it in," he said. "It's a beautifully shot film."

However, due to what he calls "bad decisions" on the part of the movie makers and the violence, he gave the film only one and a half stars.
