TULSA, OK -- The ring of wedding bells joined the crackle of fireworks in downtown Tulsa Friday night.
Tulsa's new baseball diamond, ONEOK Field, played host to an exchange of diamonds in the upper deck.
It may not look like your typical wedding venue, but the hallmarks are all the same: gifts stacking up, last-minute primping, and a bride who can't sit still.
"Its very, very exciting very nerve-wracking," said Melissa Turnage.
Even in a veil, Melissa Turnage is a baseball fan.
"I've been around baseball for a while," she said. "It's the one sport I can actually follow."
So it follows form a baseball game is where she would begin her romance.
"We actually met online. And I wanted to meet him somewhere where there was a lot of people and that seemed like the best place to do it," Turnage said.
Melissa and Matt met at the old Drillers stadium.
"We met, and uh, it was kind of love at first sight," she said. "It was great. By the seventh inning stretch I think I knew."
So the baseball-loving duo decided to begin their new life together in the new ballpark.
"I think its great being a part of ONEOK field history," Matt Norris said.
Melissa got a special escort, Hornsby.
And with a chorus of cracks from batting practice below, Matt and Melissa exchanged vows.
And the shine on the baseball diamond only seems to add to the sparkle of hers.
