KAY COUNTY, OK -- A 28-year-old man was killed in Kay County in a single-car accident that Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers blame on driver inattention.
Bradley Duane Colson, of Burbank, Oklahoma was driving about 5 miles south of Blackwell on 76th Street when his vehicle went off the roadway to the left in a broadslide, struck a culvert, rolled onto its side and hit a corner post. The vehicle then rolled again, coming to rest on its top in a field.
The accident happened sometime between midnight and 6:15 a.m. Wednesday, according to the trooper's report.
Colson, who was not wearing his seat belt, was thrown 105 feet from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene from head, trunk and other injuries.
The driver's condition at the time of the wreck is listed as unknown. Cause of collision is listed as inattention.
