TULSA, OK -- A new computer software upgrade is helping riders who use Tulsa Transit's LIFT program.
According to a news release, the upgrade will allow Tulsa Transit to save taxpayer dollars.
LIFT program customers are now being asked to provide the time they would like to be at their destination. The computer system calculates the pick-up time after considering when vehicles will be in the customer's area.
The new scheduling system makes riding the LIFT Program very similar to what customers experience on fixed-route buses.
Officials say the new scheduling system is more efficient and will reduce trip provider costs.
While they say the upgrade has had some minor issues, Tulsa Transit employees are working to address those issues and get solutions implemented as quickly as possible.
