BARTLESVILLE, OK -- Bartlesville police say a potentially explosive device found on a vehicle in the Bartlesville High School parking lot was a hoax.

Police Chief Tom Holland said Wednesday the device looked like a bomb but lacked components that would have made it explosive, including a detonator.

Local law enforcement officers received a call about 8 a.m. Tuesday about a device resembling a time bomb on the rear bumper of a vehicle.

Police and firefighters evacuated the immediate neighborhood and cautioned area residents to stay away from windows facing the school. Holland says the Oklahoma Highway Patrol Bomb Squad brought in a robot.

He says investigators have surveillance video of the device being placed around midnight but a suspect hasn't been identified
