Glenpool Celebrates Black Gold Days Festival

The 32nd annual Black Gold Days kicked off Thursday at Black Gold Park at Hwy 75 and 145th St. There's lots of food and fun for the kids and the grown-ups.

GLENPOOL, OK -- Glenpool celebrates its rich oil history this weekend.

The 32nd annual Black Gold Days kicked off Thursday at Black Gold Park at Hwy 75 and 145th St. There's lots of food and fun for the kids and the grown-ups.

"We have our music festival going on too which we're really proud of this year," said Dianne Bileck-Plants, Glenpool Chamber of Commerce. "This has been an addition to the festival. Tonight, we'll have Steve Pryor coming on about 8:00, so he's a local favorite."

Pryor, a Tulsa musician, was inducted into the Oklahoma Jazz Hall of Fame in 2009.

Families can attend the Black Gold Days parade starting Saturday morning at 10, with concerts and carnivals to follow. The event through Saturday night.
