TULSA, OK -- Some Tulsa bikers are hitting the highway this weekend in honor of our nation's veterans.
This is the sixth year for the "American Hero Ride". Bikers ride from Tulsa to the Veterans hospital in Memphis to raise money for the men and women who have served our country.
One of the organizers is a plumber. He got the idea for the ride from a customer.
"A patient of the Walter Reed Clinic was a client of his and they had told us about the hospital," said Rick "Ziggy" Zickefoose. "And since then we've been taking that ride and going in honor of our heroes on Memorial Day weekend."
The bikers raise about $10,000 each year for wounded vets.
