TULSA, OK -- A car crash early Thursday morning knocked out electric power to several businesses on 33rd West Avenue near Southwest Boulevard.

Tulsa Police say a car heading northbound on 33rd West Avenue at a high rate of speed went out of control and hit a utility pole.

The impact broke the pole, causing power lines to fall to the street.

The car came to rest alongside an office building owned by Allied Fence.

Witnesses told police the two occupants of the car then ran away.

Police closed 33rd West Avenue while PSO crews installed a new utility pole.
