TULSA, OK -- All lanes of westbound I-244 on the north leg of the Tulsa Inner Dispersal Loop are now open to traffic.
This section of I-244 has been closed since July 2009, as part of a $75 million stimulus-funded project to reconstruct the north and west legs of the IDL.
On this westbound section of the north leg, new decks were put in place on 13 bridges, and the entire roadway replaced from the ground up.

The third and final phase of this project is tentatively scheduled to begin, weather permitting, by Thursday morning. In this phase, all lanes of eastbound I-244 on the north and west legs of the IDL will be closed. This means drivers will not be able to go clockwise around the north and west legs of the IDL, but can go completely around the IDL in a counter-clockwise direction. The south and east legs of the IDL will continue to be the primary detour route along the IDL. Overall project completion is expected in early 2011.
The southbound Tisdale Parkway off-ramp to westbound US-412/US-64 will remain closed until further notice.
Daily lane and ramp closures on all sections of the IDL are posted in the traffic advisories section of www.okladot.state.ok.us. Smart work zone signs are still in place along highways leading into this work zone, which provide real-time information about delays in the area.
