TULSA, OK -- The Tulsa Police Department has arrested a person of interest in the city's second homicide in as many days.
It was a rowdy scene as officers took Isaiah Gilbert into custody Tuesday afternoon.
He was spotted at a convenience store and ran off as police approached him. Officers and a K-9 unit captured Gilbert in a backyard in the 6300 Block of South Newport.
Detectives want to question Gilbert about the murder of 17-year-old Kenneth Daniels.
The fatal shooting happened on Monday just before midnight at the Wedgewood Court Apartments near 61st and Peoria.
Police say Daniels was shot in the chest inside an apartment. Daniels was taken to a Tulsa hospital where he later died, according to police.
Police say a female victim was shot in the foot and was taken to a hospital. She was treated and released.
Police officers from across Tulsa responded to the complex and the hospital after a crowd showed up at both locations.
Prior to the shooting, witnesses told detectives everyone inside the apartment was gambling in a Craps game. Witnesses said they heard a knock at the door, and Daniels was immediately shot after opening the door. Witnesses reported hearing eight to 10 shots.
This is Tulsa's 17th homicide of the year.
Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 596-COPS.
