UNDATED -- A flood watch is in effect through Sunday morning for several counties in northeastern Oklahoma and southwest Arkansas. Tulsa, Wagoner, Rogers, Osage, Mayes, Creek, Craig, Adair and Washington County are among those included.

Ottawa County is under a flood warning, and Cherokee County a flood advisory.

News On 6 Meteorologist Dick Faurot said to expect "occasional periods of rain with embedded heavier showers and some rumbles of thunder until later Sunday when things should begin to settle down somewhat."

Although flooding may be an issue, the current weather pattern is not expected to produce severe storms, Faurot said. Green Country residents can expect temperatures well below normal this weekend, however.

The rain may not be going anywhere next week, either.

"We will still have a rather active weather pattern for much of the coming week with at least a chance of showers or storms on any given day," Faurot said.

The good news?

"Hopefully, this will keep the air conditioning bill below normal for at least another week or so," he said.
