TULSA, OK -- The Tulsa City Council approved the transfer of the old City Hall to the Tulsa Development Authority Thursday night.
The vote means the TDA can negotiate a sale to developers who want the property, which is adjacent to the Tulsa Convention Center.
At least two firms have offered to buy the building with plans to redevelop it into a hotel serving convention traffic. One firm has offered $1 million, the other $1.1 million for old City Hall and City Council chambers.
Both plan mixed uses including restaurant space.
The vote to declare the building as surplus, and make the transfer, was passed on a 8-1 vote with only Councilor Roscoe Turner voting against it.
