TULSA, OK – Two students from Green Country schools won the Tulsa Health Department's 6th annual "Don't Bug Me" flu prevention campaign elementary school poster contest, also sponsored by Hillcrest Medical Center.

The education campaign stresses the importance of hand washing as a way to reduce the number of flu cases among children and adults.

Jess DeHolander, a third-grader from Northeast Elementary in Owasso won the first through third-grade contest. Isabella Beffer, a fifth-grader from Darnaby Elementary, Union Public Schools, won the fourth and fifth-grade post contest.

The two students will receive an iPod Nano during an awards assembly held at their schools. Their poster designs will be made into coloring sheets that will be distributed to elementary students across the state during the next school year.

About 125 posters from local elementary schools were entered into the final judging contest.
