TULSA, OK -- The skies over Tulsa were filled with colorful kites over the weekend thanks to the Tulsa Wind Riders 17th Annual Festival of Kites.
"The wind's free, so you might as well use it," said Larry Stiles, the 'Perennial President' of the Tulsa Wind Riders. "We've got kites from all over. We're coming from Kansas, Arkansas, Missouri, Texas."
The admission was free and there were a variety of activities for kids and the young at heart, including kite making, kite flying, kite races and other kite flying activities. Many Tulsa area vendors will be on hand and the local Pakistani community will showcase their distinctive food, arts and clothing.
The Kite Flying Festival was Saturday, May 8th and Sunday, May 9th 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. at 43rd and South Garnett in Tulsa.
