TULSA, OK -- The Tulsa City Council spent time Tuesday morning discussing openness and truthfulness in government as a way of promoting better communication.

They wanted to talk it over with the mayor, but put it on the agenda while the mayor had another appointment.

The council was frustrated the mayor sent his liaison, Clay Bird, instead of going there in person to answer their questions.

"And other mayors seem to know how to make it to these meetings. Mayor Bartlett should learn how to do it too. It's not rocket science, just come to the meetings, answer our questions and be gone and we'll be friends," said Jack Henderson, Tulsa City Councilor.

The council still wants to talk directly with the mayor in their Tuesday meetings, but next week, the mayor will be in Washington D.C.
