TULSA, OK --  The Tulsa City Council plans to meet again Tuesday to discuss the investigation into the Mayor's Chief of Staff Terry Simonson.

The meeting will be an executive session, which is not open to the public.

The council is investigating statements Terry Simonson made to them about a federal grant for police officer salaries. Simonson told the council the federal grant money could not be used to pay officer salaries until after they were laid off.

The U.S. Department of Justice, which administers the grant, has no such requirement.

The meeting Tuesday is the first one for the council since an aide to Mayor Bartlett resigned over emails exposing his thoughts on the matter. The aide resigned after his emails to a city councilor were made public and the mayor reassigned him to other duties.
