TULSA, OK -- One in three Oklahomans has diabetes or is at risk of it. One of the biggest problems is a lot them don't know it.
The Harold Hamm Oklahoma Diabetes Center is launching a new state campaign called "Know Your Numbers" which kicks off this weekend to help people identify their risk of diabetes and perhaps make some changes to delay or even prevent the onset of the disease.
Diabetes is a national epidemic and the center says Oklahoma is one of the most severely affected states.
During the campaign, free health screenings will be held around the state offering free testing of lipid, glucose/blood sugar, BMI and blood pressure, which provide the key numbers used to detect diabetes.
