OKMULGEE COUNTY -- A Tulsa woman was killed in rural Okmulgee County just after 1 a.m. Sunday after the pickup she was riding in struck a bridge and rolled.
Juliana Williams, 29, was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene of the accident, 221st Street South and North 220 Road in Okmulgee County.
The driver, 29-year-old Jeremy Whitworth of Mounds, has been booked into the Okmulgee County Jail on a complaint of first degree manslaughter.
OHP troopers list the cause of the accident as driving under the influence.
Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers say Williams was one of five passengers in a pickup driven by Whitworth. The vehicle was traveling eastbound on 221st Street south when it ran off the roadway to the right.
Troopers say Whitworth overcorrected, and his pickup struck a bridge and went into a broadslide, leaving the roadway to the left. The truck overturned one and a half times, coming to rest on its top.
Williams and another passenger, 35-year-old Sally Welch of Tulsa, were both ejected. Welch was transported to a local hospital in serious condition with head and back injuries, according to the trooper's report.
Passenger Christy Toothman, 30, of Tulsa was transported to a local hospital in stable condition with trunk and leg injuries. Sapulpa resident Theodora Lanham, 51, was transported by Life Flight to a Tulsa hospital in serious condition with back injuries.
Another passenger, Daniel Tilghman, 23, of Tulsa, was not injured. He was the only person in the vehicle wearing a seat belt.
The driver was transported by Glenpool EMS to a Tulsa hospital where he was treated and released for head and leg injuries.
