TULSA, OK -- The mother of a murdered college student gave a special thanks to four people who have supported her efforts to find her daughter's killers.

Brittany Phillips was killed in 2004, and the case hasn't been solved. Her mother, Maggie Zingman, asked the Tulsa City Council for a proclamation of appreciation.

"Maggie called me and - from the heart, - wanted to honor the people who have helped her tirelessly this whole time to try to catch her daughter's killer," City Councilor Bill Christianson said at Thursday night's meeting.

The four people thanked in the proclamation are homicide detective Jeff Felton, the owner of Lamar Advertising who donated billboards for Brittany's case, and the owners of Fellers Vinyl and Midwest Wraps for wrapping Maggie's car with Brittany's pictures.

The efforts of these groups help the case gain attention everywhere Maggie goes.
