TULSA, OK -- The Tulsa Police Department says it has temporarily suspended responding to certain property crimes and report calls.
In a news release from the department Thursday afternoon, police officers will not respond to non-injury collisions, fraud and forgery reports, burglary from vehicle reports, larceny reports and other minor property crime reports.
Police say citizens can file a crime report through the department's web site.
Police say the exceptions include non-injury collisions involving an intoxicated driver, or a non-injury collision involving a disturbance or other crime.
The release says Tulsa Police officers will respond to calls for service if the crime is in progress or if a suspect is still at the location.
Police say they understand that this may not be a popular decision with Tulsa citizens, but as previously reported by The News On 6, the department would have to make these changes in order to be able to respond to higher priority calls.
