UNDATED -- Though a winter weather advisory for northeastern Oklahoma came to an end at noon Sunday, some northeastern counties continue to feel the effects of an overnight snow storm. The snow is expected to move out by late afternoon Sunday, according to News On 6 meteorologist Dick Faurot.

The area received some snow overnight, from a dusting in the Tulsa area to about 1-3 inches in the more northern counties.  Bartlesville, Nowata and Grove are some of the locations reporting the most accumulation.

The News On 6 received its first school closing at about 12:45 p.m. Sunday when Chelsea Public Schools canceled classes for Monday.

An arctic express still looks to be headed our way on Wednesday night and Thursday, said News On 6 meteorologist Nick Bender.

"By Wednesday, this extremely cold air mass will be knocking on Oklahoma's door - or put bluntly, kicking our door in," Bender said Sunday morning. "Temperatures will rapidly drop Wednesday night into Thursday morning, bottoming out in the single numbers and low teens.

"Ferocious winds Thursday, combined with the bitterly cold conditions, will result in dangerous wind chill values ranging from 0 to -19 degrees," Bender said.

Wind chill values that cold can result in frostbite within 30 minutes, he said.

Light snow is also possible Wednesday night and Thursday morning. Keep clicking onto NewsOn6.com for the latest weather updates.
