TULSA, OK -- A Tulsa family is safe after their home goes up in flames overnight. It happened just after midnight Friday near Xyler and Wheeling.
Crews arrived to find the home and two cars in the driveway heavily engulfed in flames. The fire was thought to start in the front of the home.
Tulsa Fire Captain David Casey said battling heavy flames this time of year is especially difficult due to water freezing up.
Two teenagers and two adults were inside the home. They were not hurt.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
Tulsa Red Cross provided aid to the family of four. Disaster Response Coordinator Shelly Henderson said they supplied food for five, seasonal garments for four and a motel for two nights.
The Red Cross also provided aid for a family of six who suffered a house fire at 1519 N. Evanston at about 11:30 p.m. Thursday.
