BROKEN ARROW, OK – Christmas has come early for some Green Country kids. Catoosa Police Department teamed up with local businesses to help spread holiday cheer.

Nearly 30 underprivileged children got to go on a special shopping spree at Target in Broken Arrow and they got help from some of Catoosa's finest.

The program matches police and firefighters with children to go shopping. Each child was given a $50 gift certificate to spend any way they wished.

"It touches the heart when you get these kids out here where they don't, they don't want to buy for themselves they want to buy for a family member," said Lt. Andrew Wimberley, Catoosa Police.

As an extra holiday treat, the kids got a souvenir picture with their new shopping buddy.

In the past, Catoosa Police Department has participated in the program with the Claremore Police Department's program.
