Repair Work Closes Tulsa Streets Beginning Monday

Water department workers will be replacing some large waterline valves in mid-town Tulsa starting Monday. Some roads and lanes will be closed.

TULSA, OK -- City workers will replace three large, 24-inch waterline valves in Mid-Town Tulsa beginning on Monday, Nov. 16. The work is expected to cause some lane and street closures through Friday, Nov. 20.

Motorist should expect lane closures to occur in the following locations:

  • East 47th Street and South Lewis Avenue – The southbound curb lane on Lewis Avenue will be closed from 46th Street to just south of 47th Street. Also, 47th Street will be closed to through traffic from Zunis Avenue to Lewis Avenue.
  • East 48th Street and South Utica Avenue – Utica will be closed to through traffic from 47th Street to 48th Street.
  • East 49th Street and South Peoria Avenue – The southbound curb lane on Peoria will be closed from just south of 48th Street to just south of 49th Street. Also, 49th Street will be closed to through traffic from Newport Avenue to Peoria Avenue.
