TULSA, OK -- The man accused of opening fire in a downtown Tulsa nightclub will go to trial for murder Tuesday.

Durayco Fox was arrested almost two years ago, accused of shooting and killing a 21-year-old. His mother insists that her son is innocent.

The victim's mother is sure the right man is behind bars.

Club UV is long gone, but two mothers are still haunted by what happened there almost two years ago.

In December of 2007 at 2nd and Greenwood, shots rang out at Club UV. People went running; an ambulance started screaming and police descended on the scene.

It was that night that changed two women's lives. One mother's son was taken. Another mother's son was locked up.

"It's just been a day-to-day struggle to even function. Knowing that they're trying to put something on your son, so devastating," said Cassandra Fox, suspect's mother.

Devastating because Cassandra Fox insists her son, Durayco, wasn't the one who pulled the trigger that killed 21-year-old Eric Bell. Bell was shot in the chest on the dance floor of Club UV. He died after surgery.

Durayco Fox was arrested a few days later.

"And it's very upsetting to deal with something as traumatic as this, knowing that my son is innocent. Knowing that there has been people come forward, people who have passed lie detector tests, stating who the real killer is," said Cassandra Fox.

Eric Bell's mother, Valeshia King, says she knows the real killer is on trial. She says her son pointed the finger at Fox, himself.

"Because I talked to him an hour before he died. And he told me who killed him. And that's why I'm here," said Valeshia King, victim's mother. "I believe justice is being served, it's just not totally served."

Not until a judgment is handed down. But one mother's justice delivered is another's justice diverted.

"I know without a shadow of a doubt that he didn't do it," said Cassandra Fox.

Jury selection was supposed to get started Monday, but it was delayed until Tuesday morning.

The area where Club UV was has had a checkered and violent past, but The News On 6 hasn't reported on any shootings there since it became the Flytrap.
