TULSA, OK -- Tulsa Police detectives are scanning surveillance tapes and running ballistic tests to figure out who shot a police officer and two others early Sunday.

The off-duty officer was at a bar picking up his wife from work. He was shot, along with the bar owner and a customer.

Kenny Mac's opened for business on Monday. The only signs of violence -- the patched bullet holes in the door and bullet holes in the windows.

Witnesses say 12 shots were fired into the bar by someone in the parking lot at about 3 a.m. on Sunday.

Corporal Mark Shelton was picking up his wife, who had been working a few fill-in shifts as a bartender. Corporal Shelton was hit twice, in the arm and also in the leg, where the bullet remains.

"There's multiple bullets shot in that bar. It's a miracle there's not more serious injuries or more people shot," said Sgt. Mike Huff, Tulsa Police Major Crimes.

A customer was hit and so was the bar owner, who's still in the hospital. Police believe the bar and its owner was the target, but don't have much information yet on why. So, they're working the evidence. They'll look at surveillance tapes they collected from nearby businesses and test the bullets.

"As we do ballistics checks to see if that leads us to the gun to see if it's been used in other crimes, but all that is time consuming. It's not like on TV, it's not done in an hour," said Sgt. Mike Huff.

Tulsa Police do feel there were people who saw the shooting from the street and they'd like to talk to those witnesses, as well as a man who was physically thrown out of the bar Friday night for causing a disruption.

If anyone has information about the shooting, call Crime Stoppers at 596-COPS. You can also text TIP 918 and the message to CRIMES. All of it is anonymous and you could earn a cash reward.
