BROKEN ARROW, OK -- Thirsty SONIC customers have helped out six Broken Arrow teachers with resources they need for their classroom and to inspire students to learn.
In a news release from SONIC, the six teachers are recent recipients of funds from SONIC's new program, Limeades for Learning.
SONIC is donating more than half a million dollars to public school teachers across the country for classroom supplies and materials.
Limeades for Learning stems from SONIC's partnership with DonorsChoose.org, a non-profit organization that helps public school educators find resources for classroom projects they wouldn't have funding for otherwise.
"Teachers often dip into their personal funds to provide supplies for their students and classrooms, and Limeades for Learning was created to help those teachers," said Clifford Hudson, chairman and chief executive officer for Sonic Corp. "These teachers now have supplies to inspire their students learn and really make a difference in their classroom. We look forward to helping hundreds and perhaps even thousands of more teachers in the weeks to come."
These teachers are six of 214 teachers, nationwide who received supplies they requested for their classroom as a result of being a top-voted project on LimeadesforLearning.com last week.
