TULSA, OK -- The new home of the Tulsa Drillers in downtown Tulsa is coming along, but it's still missing one big thing, a field of grass.
On Sunday, crews got to work on that. The Riverview Sod Ranch in Bixby cut out the fresh sod that will become the new ONEOK Field.
Riverview Sod Ranch is the same company that installed the grass at the original Drillers field. Crews say they're just as excited to do it again.
"We did one 15 years ago. It was just me and these kids. These are my three sons and they were a lot younger when I did the first one, so they're getting to participate in this one. It's going to be a lot of fun," said Charles Binney, Riverview Sod Ranch owner.
The sod will be laid in the new stadium Monday morning. Crews say it will take 95,000 square feet of sod and several days to completely install.
