TULSA, OK -- A crying 3-year-old lead Tulsa Police to the arrest of the child's mother, Erma Leann Rogers, on a felony complaint of child endangerment Friday night.
Rogers was arrested outside a house in the 1400 block of North Denver Avenue at about 11:30 p.m. according to a report by Officer P.A. Madden of the TPD.
"I had observed the subject get out of a car and walk into a house," Madden said in his report. Rogers was then observed to have "slurred speech, staggered gait, and a very lethargic personality." Friends told the officer that Rogers was high but did not specify what drug she had taken, he said.
Officers became aware of the child's presence in the car when the child began crying for its mother.
Rogers did not cooperate with officers and was booked on complaints of child endangerment after former conviction of a felony, obstruction and public intoxication.
