TULSA, OK -- A 19-year-old Pryor man was killed just before midnight Friday in a high speed accident on eastbound Interstate 244 near Memorial.

Thomas Forgione was pronounced dead at the scene of head injuries after his motorcycle rearended a vehicle that had swerved to avoid another accident.

"There were two seperate wrecks," Trooper Nathan Watson of the Oklahoma Highway Patrol said.

A pickup truck was overturned in the highway and a 29-year-old Tulsa woman swerved out of the lane to avoid the vehicle.

"She had to swerve to avoid it and was hit from behind by the motorcycle," the trooper said. "We figure that the motorcycle was travelling at a high rate of speed, quite fast."

Forgione was ejected from his 2002 Honda CBR600 and was pinned in a 2008 Volvo for about an hour and a half, according to the trooper's report. Tulsa Fire worked to extricate the motorcyclist.

The female driver was "shaken up," the trooper said, but was not injured in the accident. The pickup driver was transported to a local hospital.
