TULSA, OK -- Several arrests were made and three people were transported to area hospitals after a riot broke out during the Booker T. Washington - East Central football game Friday night.

"The game was going well," said Tulsa Public Schools Assistant Police Chief Dwight Jackson. "We had a lot of young people milling around the south end, and a fight broke out."

Officers used force and pepper spray to subdue the original fight, Jackson said, when "fights just broke out all over."

"The fight just started escalating, got bigger and bigger," said Emmanuel Collier, who was attending the game with his family. "It was just a sad situation, really. It turned out to be a disaster."

Washington was hosting East Central High School in the second week of prep football. The game was ended in the third quarter.

EMSA spokesperson Tina Wells said her crews treated several people at the scene and transported three: a 14-year-old girl, 17-year-old boy and 51-year-old man. No one had serious injuries, she said.

People were treated for anxiety and for the effects of pepper spray, according to on scene reports.

Five ambulance crews and numerous Tulsa Police and Tulsa Public Schools police officers were at the scene.
