BROKEN ARROW, OK -- An abused dog in Broken Arrow has a new owner and the owner has a new companion.
Earlier this week, The News On 6 reported Broken Arrow Police rescued a dog back in July in connection with a dog cruelty and neglect case.
The dog, called "Buddy," was discovered chained up in the back yard of a Broken Arrow home.
After spending over a month at the Broken Arrow animal shelter, Buddy was ready for adoption.

After the story aired on The News On 6 and Newson6.com earlier this week, the Broken Arrow Police Department received hundreds of calls wanting to adopt the Corgi mix.
Broken Arrow Police Major Carole Newell thanked The News On 6 and NewsOn6.com for doing the story.
Newell says the new owner is an elderly man who was looking for a companion.
On Thursday morning, the elderly man and Buddy were brought together.
