TULSA, OK -- Tulsa kids are heading back to school on Thursday, but some students got those first day jitters out of the way Wednesday.
Thoreau Demonstration Academy on east 71st street held its annual Timberwolf Training Camp. More than 200 6th graders are starting this year. On Wednesday, the students and their parents were able to look around, pick up schedules and find lockers.
Plus, it was a chance to meet other students and teachers.
"All of the worries that happen with kids coming to school on the first day we get taken care of before school ever starts," said Tom Padalino, Thoreau principal.
The principal says this year's 6th grade class is the largest ever at Thoreau.
