Tulsa City Workers Find Fetus At Water Treatment Facility

TULSA, OK -- Detectives and the Medical Examiner's Office are investigating the discovery of a human fetus inside the City of Tulsa Wastewater Lift Station.

Officers were called at about 10:30 Wednesday morning to the wastewater treatment facility at 8520 East Mohawk Boulevard to check for a dead body.

Officer Leland Ashley said city workers emptying a filter discovered the fetus inside the filter.

Detectives determined the fetus had been trapped in the filter as it passed through the wastewater system. They say they believe the fetus was at 19-22 weeks gestation and the cause of death has not been determined.
