TULSA, OK -- A Tulsa man convicted and sentenced to life in prison back in 2004 was found dead in his prison cell in McAlester Friday night.

Kelvin Ford, 26, is the third inmate to die this month as a result of an apparent fight with his cellmate at Oklahoma State Penitentiary.

Ford was found dead in his cell and his cell mate, 43-year-old Marvell Padillow Jr. was moved to another section of the prison.

On July 20, two other inmates, 45-year-old Kenneth Gore and 23-year-old Blake Ford, also died of injuries from fights in their cells.

State prison officials say Kelvin Ford was convicted in the 2002 murder of a Tulsa convenience store owner.

U-Stop owner Muhammad Qureshim, 53, was shot four times in the head on December 24, 2002.

Two other suspects in that murder were also sentenced to prison.

Padillow is currently serving convictions out of Tulsa County for sodomy and rape.
