ORU Partners With National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference

TULSA, OK -- Oral Roberts University officials signed an agreement Wednesday to become the exclusive educational partner of the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference.

The agreement will make ORU the only university in the country to join the educational effort.

It will start with a new addition called the Jesse Miranda Center.

"Hispanic students aren't just being sought out to add to the numbers, but will find encouragement and a responsible community of affirmation that there may be unique ways in which they need encouragement and we want to supply that at the Jesse Miranda Center," said Dr. Mark Rutland, Oral Roberts University.

Currently ORU has a minority rate of 22%, but they say they hope this new partnership will help increase their minority population.
